Myself & my Dad have the exact same name, so if i booked a ticket and entered his BAEC number on the booking and took one of his BAEC cards to the airport with me would i get lounge access useing his BA Status, or would the system at some point pick up that i wasnt a middle aged man in his late 50's !
Not that i would try it anyway, think my old man would be a tad annoyed at me if i did, but im sure a situation like that must have been tried on by some people.
KLM didnt used to be able to spot this. 7 years ago I was curious to see what would happen on an economy trip to see my school friends and flew MAN-AMS-JFK, the system acknowledged I was platinum and I was given a lounge ticket, and the miles/sectors were added to the account.
On the other hand, I dropped my brother off at Gatwick last year and he was late for a BA flight, the Y checkin queues were huge so went with him to the Club desk and got a ticking off for it, although they did check him in.
