Le Manoir Richelieu is a spectacular hotel in a spectacular setting. Mme 13F, 13F-ette (5.5 yrs old) and yours truly were there for three nights last week. Mme 13F's parents joined us for two of the three nights. Both rooms were river view, although some shuffling was required at the front desk in order to accommodate our request.

Evening buffet dinner is only $24 (Wow! It was $49 at the Ch Frontenac one week earlier). There is a camp fire with marshmallows every night at 8:30pm. Combo of indoor and outdoor pools, kids play room, hot tubs, eucalyptus room, exercise room, etc. And there is a casino right next store. (Almost paid for our stay with my winnings!)

At the suggestion of a neighbour in YOW, we borrowed golf carts to drive UP to the golf course which is perched above the hotel. Even more spectacular views! However I was told the course is better suited to mountain goats than golfers.

The rooms were very comfortable, bathrooms adequate, etc. Only minor complaints: 1) my in-laws were without soap until we called the Royal Service hotline. 2) despite requesting by telephone, we had no turn-down service for two consecutive nights.

We will certainly return to this hotel.
