Correct - no fast track security at International Terminal A. The lines usually aren't bad, but all it takes is one slow person in front of you to gum things up. That said, if travel insurance will cover a misconnect due to weather at ASE (or perhaps waiting for a gate at SFO), then this doesn't seem like a bad option.
