The foreign transaction fee is 1%, versus 2.7% if using SPG American Express. You would need to spend $2,650 abroad to save enough to offset the higher annual fee.
The tier point crediting is more flexible than it sounds. You receive 1 point per $2,500 spend, up to two points per month, but this is cumulative. You can spend $2,000 + $4,000 + $4,000 and receive 0 + 2 + 2 tier points.
The website displays the details of pending transactions, which I find useful.
The card is made of matte black plastic, similar to Citi Chariman card. These cards are prone to chipping at the edges which could snag the fabric of a wallet card slot, but does not interfere with transactions.
