A week ago I stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk. It was very nice. Everyone there was very helpful and the morning breakfast was good. Local phone calls were free for the first 30 minutes, and there is an EXCELLENT pizza place across the street which I think delivers to the hotel as well.
Last night I stayed at the Doubletree in Norwalk. It's a lot older property...and the 3 inch dust in the rooms is proof! I asked about a room upgrade for the high speed internet access and was asked to pay $27 (difference between the rate I paid and the rate for that room)...I refused. Then I called in the morning for a late checkout at 2pm and was told it would be $25. My response was, but I'm gold....she then said oh, ok then. Local phone calls are 50 cents for the first 60 minutes and then something extra thereafter. And the best dial-up connection I could get was 24.6 (ouch!)
Summary in Norwalk: Thumbs up for the Hilton Garden Inn and Thumbs down for the Doubletree!
