i agree with this assessment; the Doubletree across town is also pretty darn good. (and free high-speed Internet access, rah!) i never fail to get upgrades, smiles, and the GM is a true gem. oh yeah, and a nice Gold amenity package. i've found HGIs in general to be pretty good, but this one's been a wow in my book. it's given me insanely good rates one night when i couldn't make it home and had to sleep, better in a room than on the Merritt Parkway. my wife's finicky parents wanted a hotel halfway between the city and my family's place, and despite considering a Hilton "beneath them" also questioned that assumption.
