Good advice, though the KE rewards are a different series and have a different price point for redemption. Also, you cannot mix KE and NW flights in Asia on the same reward so JFK-ICN-KIX all on KE is fine but JFK-ICN-NRT with the last segment on NW is not. It is a very strange rule but one that is enforced.
