I just entered LPR for an upcoming stay in Philadelphia and the rate that came up was for a local conference and mentioned that it came with two VIP tickets but mentioned "membership card required". I agree with this assessment. For me, I would not book an LPR without knowing more of the Terms and Conditions --others could differ, but I don't want any unpleasant surprises at the hotel. With no conditions, I would contact the hotel to find out what the LPR, but that's me.
Some hotels of Sage hospitality use their LPR for giving 1/2 price nights to first responders, etc.
By the way,
F5X is still available in certain areas at certain hotels even though the promotion has technically expired.
