Beaubo -
Thanks for the info. This is the trip my son wants for his graduation gift - he'll be excited to read your thoughts. I'll do the search too as you suggested, however, do you know when "peak season" is for this trip?

Africa Safari deal is well worth it. Do a search for 'Hilton Safari' in Trip Reports for more detailed info.

Executive summary:
- architecture is eye-popping
- rooms are rather small, but look out directly where elephants, zebras, monkeys, occasional lion roam
- food was uniformly very good, no one got sick during our stay
- service is great; if you are Diamond, they save you a front rown table at dinner, looking out over the animal roaming area
- bar is ground level within a few feet of where elephants go to eat/drink
- underground passageway leading to even closer views of animals
- Taita Hills Sanctuary is relatively small, so not as high volume of animals as Masai Mara, but quality/variety is same
- drive from NBO to Hilton is quite long; recommend flying into Mombasa and driving from there...see if Hilton will allow you a fifth night at Salt Lick to substitute for one of the NBO Hilton nights
- ask Hilton to hook you up with Laura Tran, their Africa specialist in Scotland to help you firm up your trip and answer questions.

If you have trouble flying into Nairobi (tough to use awards during peak season, flying into Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania or Entebbe, Uganda, were both safe and convenient alternatives (1 hr. flight from NBO)

Feel free to email if you have more questions.
