Weekend rental in DEN in mid-August: compact car from Hertz is $70 per day all in. And that's with a pretty decent discount. Major LOL...

Thank goodness for ZE1 points. I guess that's the silver lining here: suddenly, ZE1 points are incredibly valuable for very simple rentals. It used to be that I'd hoard them for "fun" rentals or for NYC.

Now I'm getting almost 15 cents a point on a weekend rental in DEN that last year would have cost me about $40 all in. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
