Interesting. The one time I ended up on WN after a DL flight was cancelled, I had to book myself on WN (this happened in SLC), and DL canceled out the remainder of my ticket. When I asked for original routing credit, I got a response that 'we don't normally credit miles for canceled tickets, but as a one-time courtesy...'.
