Thanks for the information on load serfty, it was the clincher for me. I do not have any status and as such would have ended up wedged in a middle seat somewhere, so I did go ahead and book this offer. It was US$, however as noted by most responders - what a deal!

Anyway I did get a seat assignment and it looks like it is in a skybed.
