However, she can no longer fall asleep whereever/whenever, so she on JFK-LHR, she managed to stay awake waaay too long. About 20 minutes after she finally fell asleep, breakfast service started = one cranky child for the next 36hours. When she was < 3 years, there was virtually no jet lag.
I agree, as with all other situations, the challenge changes rather than diminishes.

Currently our little boy is in to trains and planes so the journey is fun and full of questions. Add a few books, stickers and the odd snack and he can handle a 2 hour flight.

That's his limit at the moment however.
