SQ flirts with Star Alliance members primarily to allure other paid passengers to fly either business or first class cabins.

So if you are not buying the ticket, forget SQ.

In terms of the services at business or first class, ANA, Asiana, Thai, or Lufthansa, are all great, and I wonder if you are a market research guy who might be picking up tiny sutble difference of the good services between these airlines and SQ. So if I were you, I would not even waste anytime to check SQ.

Of course, the decision goes: if you are buying the ticket, I may buy a SQ seat if I have never flown SQ before, or I may buy an ANA seat if I want to try ANA experience.
