You have completely missed the point. Maybe it is my fault for not explaining better, but I thought in this forum it should be obvious.
Luxury hotels around the world have had to dumb down their service to accommodate average Americans. Why, because Americans are the ones with the money and Americans generally refuse to adopt the local customs. This is a pretty well known fact in the travel industry and would be surprised if any regular member of this forum didn't get it.
