I flew beginning of the year to BRU from YYZ and back and found that to et Aeroplan Status mile, I had to use STAR carriers. I flew YYZ-MUC-BRU to maximize the status miles and minimize the price. I did inquire about AC flight numbers on just the YYZ-BRU 9W flights and could not find any.

MUC was great for a 1 hour connection time.....
