Some answers for you, some points can also be found in my thread listed above.

- Any experiences with this hotel ?

Hotel has certainly been around for a while, rooms were well decorated and modern. Did not show age inside. Lifts tend to be VERY slow, despite having 6 or so, particularly on the upper levels. I usually jump into the stairs and walk up or down a level to get to the lounge saves you about 10 minutes waiting for the lift!

Service is good, lounge staff are friendly. Though the indian girl who works there wasn't very friendly and adept to how to check someone out properly the last 2 times i've been there.

Evening canapes/cocktails are the best in Australia and they have no issue coming back often to ask you if you need another.

Breakfast is a little meagre, only cold cuts, salmon, pastries. Brisbane hilton by far the best for breakfast in the clubrooms.

- How is the avg. room size ?

Room size i find very tight, particularly for the price, particularly when it is not in the most central location compared to other hotels. Perhaps ask for 2 doubles rather than a king and i think they may give you a larger room.

- Does it have a central location ? Long walk to the subway ?

the train and tram are opposite. It is next to the MCG and a beautiful park (great for jogs in the morning, but bring a jumper!). it is not in the most central location, and agree with posts, a 10 min walk to the free tram, but there is a pay tram just outside the hotel and the trams come regularly (wait no more than 5-10 mins). You could walk into town to the Hyatt, it would take you 15 mins. If you want food late, not the best location at all....

If being central is vital to you, I would avoid this hotel. But being a loyal hilton person, I live with it and stay there anyway ;-) I love earning hhonors points too much.
