I cancelled by US Air (Barcays) Mastercard last week, when the annual fee was billed. Now I want to apply for another. How long should I wait after cancelling the first one? I would prefer not to wait long because I want the miles ASAP, but obviously I don't want to get turned down when i could have just waited a few more weeks. (I have an excellent credit score, but I have applied for a couple of other cards very recently). Or would it be better for me to apply for a business card, since my last one was individual? (Do I need to have a "real" business in order to apply for the business card -- I don't actually want to apply for this card through my company -- can I just use my name as the name of my business, or some made up name?).
