The Koreans already are doing lots more daily rental business. I'm with one of the Big 3 and what's said above is correct. I overheard an interesting factoid...the rental companies want to buy strippo cars but my company (and by inference, all of the big 3) are not interested in providing any more strippo cars (too much impact on brand equity)...they want to be out of the business of having people's only experience of their products being the old Taurus/Malibu Classic/Neon with the small engine and cloth seats and crank windows and.....you could argue that the Koreans are interested in getting people into their vehicles at any cost (to gain acceptance...) plus they've put up plant(s) which they're trying to keep busy...Lincoln, Ala comes to mind. That's why you are seeing so many Sonatae in fleets nowadays.
