Innovative? In terms of movement design, hardly. Durability, I'll give you that.
For example, I paid about $2400 for my late 'P' 114270 [new movement and dial] and even in these depressed times it is still worth about $2800 – and was a year ago worth about $3500.
Are you sure? The bottom has really fallen out on 2nd hand Rolexes. Really, really bottomed.
However, that's not to say my watches have done any better.

Completely agree. Buy whatever gives you pleasure. Currently, I'm trying to decide between the Hublot Ice Bang or the IWC BP. Neither makes any sense, financially, but who cares?
