First Mongolian: Had my travel agent for Asia (Wendy Feng of Far East Travel-- learned about her from FT

) book a flight to Ulan Baatar from IAD via PEK. Had to take Mongolian from PEK to ULN. When I got to PEK, the Mongolian ground crew (run by Air China) said that there was no record of my reservation despite having a confirmed PNR on an e-ticket. They called a supervisor from MIAT (Mongolian) who took an hour to get there and she said that I would likely not get on the plane since it was heavily booked--but to wait until boarding when I could get a new ticket if I paid cash. So I went to an ATM in the old terminal (now terminal 2 at PEK). Withdrew the money (which triggered a fraud alert for my ATM--must say something about PEK airport since I had used the card in Chongqing a month earlier with no problem). I did get on the plane but today, after my trip to Asia had ended, I saw a charge for the PEK-ULN flight on my credit card. Someone is double dipping. My travel agent will get me a credit, but...
Then I was booked on Air China from ULN to PEK and then on to ICN. For two days Air China either cancelled the first flight or delayed it by over 12 hours. Fortunately was able to get rebooked on KAL. But Air China flyers beware. Apparently this happens with Air China quite often in ULN.
