Under ideal conditions, I have no issues connecting in ORD.

However, throw in an extremely hot day with takeoff weight restrictions in place, high winds, the common summer thunderstorm, a standard winter snowstorm, etc. and ORD drops to a snail's crawl.

If you are going to be living close enough to MSP to make it your primary airport, the non-stop options and generally good inclement weather operations are hard to beat.

So long as the non-stop airfare is competitive, I think the non-stop options win out.
