Mrs Flies and I just got back from a glorious vacation Down Under. We both had employer tickets from IAD-SYD so we had to book a separate trip from OZ-NZ. We went with DJ because of the price, knowing that even a bottle of water or cup of coffee was extra. The flights were pleasant, on time, and very cheap.

Aussie and Kiwi security were generally sane, even for "local" international travel. You had to take out laptops and take out your Kippie Baggie. But, you kept your shoes on. How refreshing.

We could have flown on Air New Zealand for twice the cost but with free bottled water and coffee. The choice was a no-brainer.
