This reminds me of a flight in the mid-90s I took on UA to AKL. Begin a kiwi, I was able to identify the residential districts close to the airport but noticed the FAs were still walking the aisle collecting service items. As we got to an altitude were it was clear that there were buildings outside the windows, literally a couple of miles from the runway (its mostly single story housing in Manukau), one of the FAs started yelling "we're landing, we're landing", and they all began running to their seats.
