Was that on Virgin Blue? I did three Qantas domestic flights in May in coach and didn't have to pay for my sandwiches or ice cream bars. I also had lounge access at each departure city with food and drinks at no cost. I've always been happy with the Qantas domestic product. They even let my party of three move up to earlier flights BNE-SYD when we were at the airport 2 hours early (at no cost--can you do that with competitors?).
