Flight attendant standing in aisle during take-off

July 7, UA 710 ORD-SEA

Push back on time. Safety video is not shown yet.

A purser + another 1st class flight attendant are chatting in the middle galley of our 757 and continue chatting for at least 10 more minutes as we are moving towards runway. I keep wondering if we are going to see safety video at all. Finally the purser remembers, runs to the front galley and turns on the demo. Just when the safety video is over, the captain announces “Prepare for take-off”. One of the flight attendants start picking up trash and glasses from pre-departure beverage service. Immediately, we begin accelerating on the runway. Now she is trying to get to her jump seat in the front galley, but we are accelerating quickly and she can barely stand, grabbing one first class seat back after another as she moves forward. She was still standing in the isle during rotation.

I do not know anything about FAA regulations and what do they say about standing during take-off, but the whole thing made me feel UNSAFE. It made me feel worried about performance of our flight attendances if we had an emergency.
