Who else is leaving Honors Program!!!!
After reading post I am leaving this program will make next years reservations with Starwood. Raising VIP awards by 75% is just too much for me. I am Diamond and will spend my 700,000 points this month. My brothers and sisters can expect a nice Christmas present from me this year. If you have not heard the message below is the offical word about the dilution of Hiltons program! Sorry I do no know how to do quotes.
Hello everyone,
We are, in fact, making some changes to the Hilton HHonors standard reward chart as well as to the VIP Only rewards.
The VIP rewards are not going away, but will be increasing in points required effective June 1, 2003. Reward certificates requested prior to June 1 will be at current point prices and the certificate will be valid for one year from date of issue. Reward certificates requested from June 1 forward will be at the new prices.
The VIP Only reward point levels required effective June 1 are as follows:
Aloha Spirit (ALON) - 175,000 points
Golf Getaway (TEEN) - 175,000 points
Going Global (GLON) - 150,000 points
Going Global ("premium"--GLONP) - 175,000 points
Additionally, we are discontinuing VIP Only rewards that have an airline component, effective January 1, 2003.
While we recognize that these changes represent a significant increase in the point levels required, these rewards still represent a substantial savings over the standard point levels for these rewards. And while we have not increased the point levels for these rewards in previous years, we are unable to continue offering these rewards at their current point levels.
These changes have been finalized only in the past week, which is why our customer service agents are not yet fully trained on the details. We'll be sending out email and letters announcing the changes to members next week but, as a number of you have found, we are in the process of updating our website information so that it is current when we send out the member announcement.
I've included a copy of the member announcement here (please note that the links are not yet active):

Because you are one of our most valued VIP members, I wanted to take this opportunity to personally update you on some changes to Hilton HHonors that will take effect next year. In making these changes we want to ensure we continue to provide you with the program benefit members have appreciated most over the years--the ability to Double Dip® for points and miles--now at more than 2,400 hotels--and also, of course, a competitive reward chart.
While there are no changes to earning both points and miles on the same stay, we are announcing a number of adjustments to the HHonors reward chart:
Specifically, effective June 1, 2003, we’ll begin classifying our standard hotel and Point Stretcher rewards in six categories instead of the five presently available. While the points required for free nights at more than 2/3rds of the hotels have stayed the same or been reduced, more points will be required at the remaining hotels after June 1, 2003. Click here for details.
Point requirements have also been adjusted for our VIP Only rewards, effective the same time period; click here for the details on the VIP Only reward changes.
A number of other changes have been made to some of the less frequently used rewards, such as adjusting the points required for rewards which include airline tickets, and standardization of the HHonors Reward Exchange chart. These changes are effective January 1, 2003. Click here for more details on the HHonors Reward Exchange.
We appreciate each time you choose to stay at Hilton Family hotels, and I want to ensure you don’t miss out on some of the enhanced benefits we’re introducing for 2003, too. These changes are summarized below, and you can link to the web for more information:
