Last year in Turkey we arrived very late at night and received a rental with an empty tank and were directed to return it with an empty tank. We complained and were directed to the nearest gas station.

This year in Spain, we were forced to prepay for a tank of gas and instructed to return it empty- I am not sure which is worse- both ways the rental folks made money on the gas!
