Outrageous! BA refuses a BA card shock horror!

It seems the crew member was not trained. We used our (chip/PIN-enabled) card manually when the plane was recovering from a power outage. The crew should know how to do this. We didn't get the miles, though, in spite of the crew member completing a manual miles claim form.

If you need the miles, you could try asking BA for a service recovery credit. IME though, retrospective claims for inflight shopping are rarely worth the effort.
