The archives are pretty thin so I am asking for any help & advice.

I am planning a summer vacation. I will be driving my lovely wife and 4 wonderful kids in the omnipresent Mini-Van to a Hilton N.C. or S.C beach property. I have heard nice things about Hampton Inns in Myrtle Beach, SC and Corolla, NC. The Embassy in Mrytle sounds and looks nice (on-site waterpark). I don't golf so the Hilton property in Hilton Head, SC is not ringing any bells. I guess Charleston is an option but I need a killer pool and my wife loves to walk on the beach.

I have the points to burn but 150,000 points for the Embassy or Hilton property seems a bit much.

I do have access to the Gov't rate option which Hampton is fairly liberal with.

Long story short, Dad wants to get complacent by the Pool with a cooler close by.

Your thoughts and insights would be appreciated.
