Me too...
In the two most recent cases, one hotel had no problems with adding the HHonor number and providing all perks that come with the status of that guest.
The other hotel didn't want to add the number and made it very clear that HHonor doesn't mean a thing for PL stays.
Both hotels were category 6 Hilton's, one in Florida the other in NYC.
Bottom line: trying never hurts, but don't expect anything.
BTW. recently it seems that Hilton stopped giving points for incidentals incurred during PL stays, at least that's my experience. Like a previous poster wrote: no reason complaining about that considering the rates I'm paying to stay at very decent hotels
