BEWARE: Purchasing F tickets via Delta.com for NW flights
I purchased a ticket on Delta.com and selected 'First Class' as search criteria.
I selected a 'Refundable' fare that booked into 'A' booking class. My e-ticket confirmation shows "Bkng Class - A" and "Seat/Cabin - First".
The fare rules show this:
CLASS OF SERVICE
THESE FARES APPLY FOR FIRST/COACH CLASS SERVICE.
FARE CLASS HIERARCHY - BOOKING CLASS
THE HIERARCHY IS
ECONOMY CLASS - Y B M H Q K L U T
BUSINESS CLASS - J C D I
FIRST CLASS - F A
So I believed that the fare was an 'A' fare and would earn the respective 50% EQM and banked mileage bonus.
When it posted, it posted as an economy fare.
I called WorldPerks who told me that the fare was an H or an M fare (they did not know which) but either way it was not an A fare even though it said on my e-ticket that it was A. They said that there was nothing they could do, even though they agreed the information provided on Delta.com was unclear and/or misleading.
So beware when booking F tickets via Delta and crediting to WorldPerks. I know this has come up before with some of the cheaper First Class fares, but in this instance, it said 'A' booking class and my e-ticket shows 'A', nowhere does it show 'M' or 'H' booking class.
