Gaithersburg Hilton: C-

I use to stay at this hotel many years ago when it was a Marriott. It is the same hotel, with 12 years of additional wear.
I booked a room for 2 people, but I only received 1 breakfast coupon (I'm a Diamond). When I asked for another, I was told they only give 1 "regardless of the rate you´re paying or HHonors status". I asked to speak to the manager, and she told me the same thing. This is the first time I've been denied a 2nd coupon when I had someone with me. A bad business decision IMHO.
While the hotel is neat and clean, the furniture in the rooms is old and threadworn. It is in serious need of refurbishment.
When we sat down at the restaurant for breakfast, we noticed there were 20 or so tiny ants running all over the table. They changed the tablecloth, but we moved to another table across the room.
There are 2 positives about the place. The brakfast is very good - made-to-order omelets, fruit, breads, etc. Also, all the rooms on the top floor have balconies, and we found it very pleasant having a cold drink on the balcony.
If you have business in the immediate vicinity like at IBM and you want to go to a large mall directly across the street and you want the points, it is okay. But otherwise, especially if you`re on vacation, there are many other better choices.
