Laplap, in the current economy, I think you can get a double room with bath in a hotel for Y7,500 in Tokyo -- someplace like the Shinjuku New City hotel. No need to put up with shared shower facilities.

Yeah, I gotta admit I haven't checked it out firsthand as I stay in a slightly different standard hotel when visiting.
