Oversized bags handling at IAH Terminal C
Last night my wife and I went down the the counter at terminal C to check my golf clubs to go back to OKC on CO 1704. The girl at the counter appeared to be a contract worker (not in CO gear, different name tag) and she didn't know what to do with oversized bags. She took my clubs and just set them out in the open next to the temporary rail just sitting there. I stood there for a second just to see what was up and went back and asked "do you guys just leave people's luggage just sitting in the open?" Her reply was "don't worry they're secure" and after I asked her how can she tell me that she repeated herself, saying a guy with a cart would come get them.
Now, I hung around and waited for that dude and he did come pick them up, but doesn't this defeat the purpose of "don't leave any bags unattended while in the airport" rule, and to be totally honest, even though my clubs are middle of the road, if I had some nice Titleist or a expensive ski bag with nice skis, I'm not sure I'd trust them sitting there while I leave for security just on some desk agents assurance that "they're secure."
Thoughts or experiences anyone?
