Thumbs down Disappearing NW ticketing at airports

I journeyed to SNA today to turn in a TCV, and was informed that they "no longer perform ticketing for NW." I was then politely directed to LAX for my ticketing needs.

This is insane! It's annoying enough I have to go to an airport to turn in a paper TCV, but now they're picking and choosing which airports we can go to? I presume this is an unusual circumstance because of the co-terminals, but I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this at other stations where NW/Delta have combined? SNA, of course, was one of the stations NW outsourced even before the merger, so not terribly surprised they have nobody ticketing capable, but the asst station manager confirmed they are not authorized to ticket, even if they happen to know how (or if the helpdesk were to talk them through it).

A whole new level of craziness. The sign above the counter says very clearly "now serving NW"...
