OK the difference is that BD generally offers Tango+ fares rather than just straight Tango. The crux of the matter being points are indeed awarded on the metal you fly on.

When your corporate booking system picks the lowest fare you are better off selecting BD as your preferred carrier

Unless anyone else can think of a way around it?
