If you specifically want a Starwood property, the Sheraton Centre is a great hotel. Really good location close to the subway and lots of shopping. It was recently renovated - maybe 2 or 3 years ago.

If you want to be near the Gay Village on Church Street, the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown on Yonge Street is just a couple of blocks from the action and probably your best bet.
