CO will not accept it. You have to call NW, and have them apply it (for a CO flight). I used to use the $100 one frequently, but you had to have a strong stomach to insist that they could apply them to a CO ticket. Figure on being on hold for 20-30 minutes.
I'd guess soon this will no longer work at all since they're leaving Skyteam.
