MU is as safe as any other airline. You'll be on their A340. IMO one of the better mainland Chinese airlines.

I think we all know what recent story you are referring to
. With any Chinese carrier there will always be rescheduling/cancellation risks and they may not always accommodate you the way you expect if such a cancellation occurs. This goes for any of them including CA and CZ.
