Regarding comparison between the LAX HGI and the LAX DT wanted to share with you what the respective front desk staff said when I inquired about their parking charges if I were to leave my car for a day and a half after check out.

The DT said that they don't charge guests for parking but since I'd be leaving the car after I checked out, that I would need to book a "Park and Fly" rate, at about $30 more than the AAA rate that I had found.

However, the HGI said that there is no parking charge and they don't give any kind of dash board passes, so that it wouldn't be a problem to leave my car after I checked out. And she said I would be able use their free shuttle to return to my car (even though I wouldn't be a guest at that point). Seems absolutlely perfect to accomodate my mileage run to LAS and would probably be equally good to those people who travel because they need/want to be somewhere else (as opposed to me who's just after points and miles!)
