I just visited some friends who were staying at the Embassy Suites LAX South. Got it on Hotwire (I know, no points) for $70. Called a 3.5 star hotel.

Full breakfast, free drinks in the afternoon, four people in a suite - parking is $13 but they found free parking right across the street. I didn't see the room, but it sounded like a very good deal.
