I'm an Atlanta native and still live here 60% of the time, and I actually got the Grand Hyatt Buckhead through priceline 3 times since April of '08. Each time was for $92 while doing a search of only the Buckhead zone on priceline. I have 3 stores I own in the city, but Buckead is my main hub, and when I know I'm going to be late and don't feel like driving home to Gwinnett, I use that trick.
Also, if you search for 4-star in Midtown Atlanta, and go with a bid of $66, 8 times out of 10, as long as it's not a holiday or a big sports weekend, you will score the Marriott Marquis. That's been going on for years now and I cannot tell you how many times I have used that trick or told associates to use it. Nice hotel, the Marquis.
