In August, I'll mark the 20th anniversary of my first flight in TATL J, when DL operated a three class L-1011, and the flight (ATL-LGW-HAM) left from the T gates. Things were quite different then; in those days, uniformed guards prevented non-international passengers from entering the T concourse, and, once you entered the concourse, you couldn't easily leave it. In other words, the international flights were totally segregated from the domestic flights.
Delta's business class was called "Medallion Class", and the seating was 8 across using the domestic first class seats that were used on domestic 767s. The food and champagne, as I remember, was fantastic.
