Hmmm, let's see, 2 nights at a top end Luxury Collection hotel (value $800+) or enough AE miles to get an economy ticket within NAmerica for which you pay $150 in surcharges, taxes and fees (value $400 max in Tango). I seem to be missing the value equation in such a conversion.
