I agree, if points are worth C$0.03 each, the 2% rebate is not a bad cash substitute. And if they start using up their points, they could always switch cards in a future year.

I've actually thought of giving up the Aerogold for this rebate card, but then I'll go on a point-spending binge and change my mind.

Now that we can't buy certificates any more, I may switch when my Aerogold is up for renewal.
