This property is hit or miss. I have stayed there several times and the management is very inconsistent.
For example I am a Hilton Diamond. They not only would not upgrade me when I stayed there on vacation, they would even give me the same room (Ocean side) that I had reserved a month earlier.
After several conversations they finely relented, but I only got 3 days of my six day stay in the room I paid a premium fee for. When I mentioned that I was informed that "I was free to stay at another hotel".
In addition the microwave was busted, and busted it remained throughout my stay despite repeated assurances it would be replaced (after the room switch). This was annoying as I try and control my weight and eat only a half portion at dinner-time. Hence no way to warm-up the leftovers for lunch the next day.
And I found their morning buffet host to more akin to a Gestapo agent. Being asked to for my room number several times in line, the nas I wen through the buffet, and finally at the table. This is not something I really want to announce at a crowded tourist hotel. "Hey I am from room XX and eating breakfast now, so why don't some of you go up and rob me why I dine."
Parking is simply outrageous at this facility. The staff is generally unfriendly and unaccommodating.
But now the positive side. It is a very nice facility. The ocean is right there, and there just is something about that. I sat on the patio outside my room and watch a storm role in. The lightning display was inspiring. The ocean breeze stimulating, and the general ambience made me forget about the behavior of the staff.
They also had organized classes for children which was great. And in contrast to the general staff "with an attitude", the people working with the children were a delight to behold. They had a certain exuberance which was electrifying.
In addition they have sort of a beat up game room that has some awesome games at reasonable prices. Perfect for that rainy afternoon with the kids. My favorite is "The Simpsons". Playing Marge and smacking the baddies with the vacuum cleaner was a blast.
So in the end I would stay in general the hotel has a staff that is rude to its elite customers, and has a general attitude problem.
However the view is great, the hotel ambience is cheerful, and the pools are nice.
Maybe my expectations are a little out of whack. But I would tend to think the Hilton chain would instruct its "resort" hotels to go out of their way to be "kind" to their elite members. After all, at most resorts the Hilton Diamond members are either there for rest and relaxation (when you want and desire pampering) or combining business with pleasure. Either way, it would be nice to be treated a bit better than the way you are usually treated.
