In about 30 stays this year, I've only been asked for a Government ID at one Hilton- that was in Burbank,CA and I was told that I had booked at the 'federal/contractor rate' and not the 'state/contractor rate' and was charged an additional $12.00. This was by the front desk manager who had apparently decided she would play rate police. After I returned home I looked at the rate rules on the Hilton website and found out that she was wrong - I emailed Hilton and got a refund for the $12.00. It wasn't the $12, but the ladies attitude that caused me to complain. She held up about 6 other people who were trying to check in while she "read the rules to me & adjusted my rate"
