Elite check-in in Terminal C has been working fine for me. There was not even a line the last two times I was there. If your flight ends up leaving out of Terminal E, as others have said, the "secret" TSA checkpoint in the walkway to Terminal E is never crowded (although I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes at the Terminal C checkpoint).
