Voucher
I was heading to SFO...do you honestly think that someone at that station would have gladly given me the $15??? This is the same station where, eons ago, they looked at the voucher the last time I received one (not as if I am being doused in juice/coffee/Coke every day), as if it was Canadian Tire script.
My return was ex LAS...where the contract agent in the decrepit T2 looked at me like I was from Mars...and when I arrived back in to YUL, since all flights had departed for the night, ticketing was closed.
So, not exactly user-friendly to get the money back. Am I supposed to head to Cote-Vertu between 1313 and 1327 on the 3rd day before the Winter Solstice to get my money? That would probably be easier than the hoops I have encountered so far.
If this was a big amount of money, perhaps...but someone -- like the Station Manager at SFO in 1992 -- should have taken the bull by the horns and said, "here, Mr. Dunderhead, is $15...and I will submit your voucher to Petty Cash when I head past the ticket counter later..." ; NOT..."go out of Customs and security, and stand in line and wait while we quote the 26-stop RTW fare, and then stand in line again to go back through security and Customs..." -- oh, and our counters in the cities you are going to are contracted out, too bad...oh, and our counter in the city where you arrive on your return is closed, too bad...
I would have been happier instead of the $15, someone had said "here's 1000 miles, mail in this voucher to YVR"...and nobody would have had to handle cash. DL can issue an e-voucher, redeemable and exchangable and combinable...again, nobody handles the cash. Much more user-friendly than getting the $15 out of AC.
